Pegasus class have been using oil pastels to create a waxy relief on paper, then practised applying watercolours in shades to recreate Monet’s Waterlilies and in a second piece, koi fish swimming through the water. The waxy nature of the oil pastels sealed the paper from the liquid paint very well, so extra details were visible through the paint. We particularly liked using this technique to draw air bubbles in the water around the fish, it was fun!
