Appointment of new Farnborough Head Teacher pdf

21 June 2017
Dear Parents and Carers,

Appointment of the New Head Teacher to Farnborough Primary School

I am delighted to inform you of the appointment of the new Head Teacher of Farnborough Primary School. After a very rigorous selection process and a robust interview, the Local Committee of Farnborough Primary School (Governing Body), in partnership with the Board of Trustees for Nexus Education Schools Trust, unanimously recommended that Miss Angela James be offered the position of Head Teacher for Farnborough Primary School. We are very pleased to announce that Miss James has accepted. She will formally take up the headship from 1st September 2017.

Miss James is known to many of the staff and pupils in her present role as consultant headteacher for Nexus schools. She is an experienced Head Teacher, having led primary schools in both Croydon and Wandsworth. Miss James’s passion for the community of Farnborough School and her child centred approach was evident throughout the interview process. On her appointment Miss James said, “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as the new Head Teacher at Farnborough Primary School and I am looking forward to building on its long history as a community school, the amazing ethos and the superb achievements of the pupils and staff under the leadership of Ms Farrow and her team.”

I am sure you will join the Local Committee in welcoming Miss James to the school. With the appointment of Miss James as the new substantive Head Teacher from September, Ms Farrow will move to the role of Chief Executive Officer for the Nexus Education Schools Trust. As such we are delighted that she will be able to lead a large group of primary schools to work together to extend excellence across the other schools in the Trust, as well as continuing to have oversight of Farnborough Primary School. Mrs Ashley will return to the role of Mathematics advisor for Nexus Education Schools Trust. Mrs Ashley will support Mathematics across the group of schools including Farnborough. Mrs Browne will support Miss James in her new role and remain our very able Head of School. Under the present leadership structure the school will not have the post of Deputy Head.

On behalf of the Local Committee I would like to thank both Mrs Ashley and Mrs Browne for the superb work as Heads of School over the last two years. As part of a larger organisation of Nexus Schools we have been able to retain their experience and skills to benefit not only our school but also to be able to support others across the trust.

Yours sincerely
Mr P Chandler
Chair of Local Committee of Farnborough School
