Red Nose Day is coming and we will be supporting this in a range ofways at Farnborough.  Year One’s topic is‘Doing Good’.  This topic is focussed on looking at how wecan make a positive change within the community and help those in need who areless fortunate than us.  The outcome forthe children is that they plan and organise a charity day, raising money andawareness for their chosen charity.  Asit ties in so nicely, year one have chosen to support Comic Relief and organisethe school fundraising events.

Event One – Design a Red
Nose Competition

In the lead  up to Comic Relief
we will be giving the children the opportunity to design their very own ‘Red
Nose’, this can be made out of any material that they wish, whether it be a
paper plate, paper mache or even clay. We want the children to be as creative
as they would like, so with half term approaching they have lots of time to get
designing.

The children can bring their ‘Red Nose’s’ into school on Friday 15th
March and a winner will be chosen and awarded in a special assembly that will
be held on Friday 22 March 2019 with a £10.00 Amazon voucher. They will also
win £25 to donate to a charity of their family’s choice. Please do not forget
to name your creation!

Event Two – Wear
Red

We will also be inviting the whole school to ‘Wear It Red’ on Friday
15 March 2019 for a suggested donation of £1.00 with all proceeds going to
Comic Relief!

Event Three – Red Noses

A limited supply of Red Nose’s will also be available to buy for £1.50
in the school office from Monday 11 March until the afternoon of Friday 15 March.
Please bring your money in early to avoid disappointment!  On Friday 15th March children will
be allowed to wear their red noses and/or accessories in to school, however,
please label them with a marker just in case any of the children misplace them.

Year
1 will also announce our total amount raised from their fundraising events in
the school assembly on Friday 22 March.

We
look forward to celebrating World Book Day with you all and look forward to
seeing your ‘Red Nose’ creations!
